Fused Glass for Mosaic Artists: Sat/Sun August 28 & 29, 2010 - Call to enroll
9AM-2PM both days at Kathy's Los Altos Studio. $140 + $40 materials
Fused glass tesserae can add dramatically to mosaic pieces. They allow for additional detail, texture, color and scale. In this class we will cover a variety of innovative ways to use and incorporate fused elements with contemporary or traditional mosaics. This class is about creativity and experimentation, with fused glass AND techniques using these components in mosaics. We will use opal, transparent and dichroic glass, as well as recycled bottles. Snacks will be provided.
Day 1 - Learn techniques to create unique pieces to include as focal pieces
Day 2 - Learn to create tesserae from assorted glass, inc. recycled pieces.
You will leave with a a bag of fused creations from the class.

This class will be repeated in September 2010 Beginning Fused Glass: Sat/Sun July 17, 18th 2010 - Class Full
9AM-1PM both days at Kathy's Los Altos Studio.
Day 1 - Learn a variety of techniques on 4 small pieces
Day 2 - Implement own design on 9"x9" plate

  • Family Fusing Workshops
    This is the most popular workshop I offer.
    Typical workshops have 1-2 children and a parent/Aunt/Uncle
    Great way to spend some creative time with the kid(s) and end up with a finished project.
    The projects can accommodate different skill levels and approaches.
  • Studio Time/Project Support
    Working at my studio is an option if you want to borrow tools, and/or have access to advise or help with your project.
